What should you expect during lip augmentation?

• Applying ice to your lips for some days after the surgery can help ease itching, swelling, bruising, and pain.
• Stay hydrated as it helps speed up the healing process.
• Stay away from strenuous physical activity or exercise for 24 to 48 hours following the lip augmentation. The increase in heart rate or blood pressure exercise may intensify the swelling or bruising. You can do light activities, like walking instead.
• Avoid sodium-containing foods and consume more hydrating fruits and vegetables.
• Avoid exposure to high temperatures, like going out in sun or saunas, or steam rooms.
• You can take painkillers or other medications prescribed by your doctor.
• Avoid sleeping on your face. You can try to sleep with your head held high on pillows to reduce swelling. 
• Don’t apply lipstick, makeup, or other lip products for 2-3 days following the procedure.
